WASHINGTON, D.C. – Corus International is strengthening its global education and technology portfolios with two leadership moves aimed at scaling impact and accelerating growth. Hannah Graham, former head of CGA Technologies, will now lead Corus’s education portfolio, while David McAfee, co-founder and former CEO of Viamo, joins as Managing Director of CGA Technologies.
The appointments reflect Corus’s continued investment in education and technology as core drivers of its strategy to end extreme poverty by strengthening the fundamentals of human wellbeing. Education underpins access to knowledge, while technology enables greater reach, efficiency, and impact across all program areas.
Corus elevates education as a flagship growth area
Graham’s appointment comes as Corus moves to position education as a flagship pillar of its global portfolio. Building on the success of recent education initiatives, the organization is shifting from project-based programming to scaling proven models and driving systems-level change.
The move is designed to strengthen Corus’s ability to partner with governments, donors, and the private sector to deliver integrated education solutions at scale.
Graham brings more than a decade of experience leading education and digital innovation efforts across Africa. Since joining CGA Technologies in 2011, she has overseen major programs in South Sudan, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Mali, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a focus on government partnership and long-term sustainability.
“Hannah has been instrumental in shaping CGA Technologies into a trusted partner for digital solutions,” said Corus President and CEO Daniel Speckhard. “Her leadership and commitment to overcoming the barriers that keep children out of school make her the ideal person to guide our education work as we expand our reach and impact.”
Technology push reflects sector-wide shift
McAfee’s appointment comes as Corus accelerates its investment in technology as a core enabler of development impact. With digital tools reshaping how governments and NGOs operate, the organization is advancing a more unified, scalable approach to technology across its programs.
By embedding data and digital solutions across its programs, Corus is enhancing its ability to expand reach, drive efficiency, and evolve toward a more innovative, market-responsive social impact model.
McAfee brings more than 17 years of experience building and scaling technology ventures across Africa, Asia, and North America. As co-founder and CEO of Viamo, he led the growth of a global platform connecting millions of people in low- and middle-income countries to critical information and services via mobile technology.
He began his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gabon and later worked in Rwanda, where he applied market-based approaches to expand access to public health services — experience that ultimately informed the founding of Viamo.
“David’s leadership and deep understanding of technology for development will help ensure CGA continues to grow and innovate,” said Speckhard.
