South Sudan Health Sector Mapping and Facility Survey (Phase 1 & Phase 2)

The project enabled a comparison with a previous mapping exercise to analyse how services evolved and establish the tools, methodology and system to facilitate future surveys. The assessment of facility finances also allowed a follow up on Service Delivery Unit Grants paid by the MoH.

Country/Region: South Sudan
Dates/Duration: 2016 - 2018
Funded by: EU
Clients: Ministry of Health and Sanitation, AidWorks

As part of a project to support South Sudan’s Ministry of Health (MoH) capacity to monitor, manage, and plan its services, CGA was commissioned to map partner activities and management information systems and conduct a health facility survey.

In addition, CGA redeveloped the MoH website providing live information from the various national information management systems, a visualisation of facilities visited, their financial and human resource ‘inputs’, and service provision.

The project enabled a comparison with a previous mapping exercise to analyse how services evolved and establish the tools, methodology and system to facilitate future surveys. The assessment of facility finances also allowed a follow up on Service Delivery Unit Grants paid by the MoH.
