Promotion of Sustainable Partnerships for Empowered Resilience programme (PROSPER)

Heavy floods and strong droughts have plagued Malawi in recent years, compounding the underlying food insecurity and low economic development of those households hardest hit. PROSPER (Promoting Sustainable Partnerships for Empowered Resilience) is a four-year, four-District programme, led by Concern Worldwide, aimed at strengthening the resilience of 1.2 million vulnerable people against climatic shocks.

PROSPER (Promoting Sustainable Partnerships for Empowered Resilience) is a four-year, four-District programme, led by Concern Worldwide, aimed at strengthening the resilience of 1.2 million vulnerable people against climatic shocks. Its aim is to increase Malawian household and community resilience to weather and climate related shocks, responding to seasonal consumption needs, social safety nets, and generating evidence and knowledge to inform government policy.

As part of the project, CGA is building a harmonised reporting and monitoring platform – the PROSPER MIS. The system will allow the projects five INGO and four UN partners to submit data collected from the field and review summary reports for their own interventions.

The system will also give Concern a comprehensive programme oversight through tracking and visualisation of overall progress against project framework indicators. The MIS builds on key national systems, including the Unified Beneficiary Registry (UBR) with which it will be integrated to facilitate rigorous beneficiary management and comparison of programme intervention impact on beneficiaries against those not enrolled in the programme.
