Ndi Hano!
As part of this DFID-funded, Education for Change-led project, CGA supported the Rwanda Education Board (REB) to develop and implement the country’s first SMS-based attendance monitoring system, Ndi Hano! (meaning ‘I am here’ in Kinyarwandan). Its aim was to enable the REB, education officials, head teachers, teachers, parents and other education stakeholders to enhance their collective accountability for attendance in the classroom and ultimately to lead to more regular attendance at school by both teachers and learners.

Its aim was to enable the REB, education officials, head teachers, teachers, parents and other education stakeholders to enhance their collective accountability for attendance in the classroom and ultimately to lead to more regular attendance at school by both teachers and learners.
The web-based system, with real-time reporting and data display, provided education officials and policymakers with an insight to the strengths and weaknesses of the country’s school system and its pupils as well as enabling officials to verify teacher attendance against those receiving salaries. Teachers at 28 primary schools of Nyarugenge district in Kigali were trained to use the reporting system and then asked to send daily reports.
Output
Ndi Hano worked with 56 head teachers, 642 teachers and 41,836 students. (from https://www.earlylearningtoolkit.org/sites/default/files/26%20Ndi%20Hano.pdf)
