International Review of Social Protection Allocations in National Budgets
A review of government allocations of social protection expenditure with regard to national budgets for FSD Kenya to inform practice in Kenya's social protection sector.

CGA provided strategic and technical input to the design of the National Safety Net Programme (NSNP) payment architecture working with multiple stakeholders to design and develop an effective and sustainable solution for NSNP social payments in line with Government policy and international best practice.
This included thorough research to identify countries with best practices in the disbursement of social protection transfers, analysing their policy, legal and institutional set-up and reviewing their budgetary allocation and disbursement processes. From this, we reviewed the practice and process of budgeting and disbursing safety net expenditures in Kenya and identified areas for improvement.
